Verse (74:7), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (74:7) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, preposition, noun and possessive pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for". The noun is masculine and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The noun's triliteral root is rā bā bā (ر ب ب).
