Verse (70:2), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

__

The first word of verse (70:2) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and active participle. The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for". The active participle is masculine plural and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The active participle's triliteral root is kāf fā rā (ك ف ر).
