Verse (6:80), Word 8 - Quranic Grammar

The eighth word of verse (6:80) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A verb and object pronoun. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is hā dāl yā (ه د ي). The of the first person singular object pronoun has been omitted due to elision (الياء محذوفة), and is indicated by the kasrah.

Sahih International: And his people argued with him. He said, "Do you argue with me concerning Allah while He has guided me? And I fear not what you associate with Him [and will not be harmed] unless my Lord should will something. My Lord encompasses all things in knowledge; then will you not remember?
