The eighth word of verse (6:58) is divided into 2 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix and verb. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The passive perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is qāf ḍād yā (ق ض ي).
