Verse (6:35), Word 17 - Quranic Grammar

The seventeenth word of verse (6:35) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction fa is usually translated as "and". The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine singular and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is hamza tā yā (أ ت ي). Sahih International: And if their evasion is difficult for you, then if you are able to seek a tunnel into the earth or a stairway into the sky to bring them a sign, [then do so]. But if Allah had willed, He would have united them upon guidance. So never be of the ignorant.
