Verse (6:132), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (6:132) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A conjunction and negative particle. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The negative particle acts like the verb laysa (ليس). This verb belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).
