Verse (6:108), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (6:108) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and prohibition particle. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The prohibition particle (حرف نهي) is used to form a negative imperative and places the following verb into the jussive mood (مجزوم).

The analysis above refers to the 108th verse of chapter 6 (sūrat l-anʿām):

Sahih International: And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah , lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them about what they used to do.
