Verse (6:104), Word 12 - Quranic Grammar

The twelfth word of verse (6:104) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and negative particle. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The negative particle acts like the verb laysa (ليس). This verb belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).

Sahih International: There has come to you enlightenment from your Lord. So whoever will see does so for [the benefit of] his soul, and whoever is blind [does harm] against it. And [say], "I am not a guardian over you."
