Verse (64:9), Word 3 - Quranic Grammar

The third word of verse (64:9) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and noun. The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for". The noun is masculine and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The noun's triliteral root is yā wāw mīm (ي و م). Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).

Sahih International: The Day He will assemble you for the Day of Assembly - that is the Day of Deprivation. And whoever believes in Allah and does righteousness - He will remove from him his misdeeds and admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
