Verse (5:21), Word 13 - Quranic Grammar

The thirteenth word of verse (5:21) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A particle of cause, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so". The particle is used to indicate cause and makes the following verb subjunctive. The form VII imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is qāf lām bā (ق ل ب). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.
