Verse (5:14), Word 13 - Quranic Grammar

The thirteenth word of verse (5:14) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction fa is usually translated as "and". The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is ghayn rā wāw (غ ر و). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.

Verse (5:14)

The analysis above refers to the fourteenth verse of chapter 5 (sūrat l-māidah):

Sahih International: And from those who say, "We are Christians" We took their covenant; but they forgot a portion of that of which they were reminded. So We caused among them animosity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection. And Allah is going to inform them about what they used to do.
