Verse (5:11), Word 22 - Quranic Grammar

The 22nd word of verse (5:11) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A supplemental particle, imperative particle and verb. The supplemental particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so". The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "let" and is used to form an imperative construction. The form V imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the jussive mood (مجزوم). The verb's triliteral root is wāw kāf lām (و ك ل).

Sahih International: O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allah upon you when a people determined to extend their hands [in aggression] against you, but He withheld their hands from you; and fear Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely.
