Verse (5:113), Word 12 - Quranic Grammar

The twelfth word of verse (5:113) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A conjunction and verb. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is first person plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (نكون) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).
