Verse (59:3), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (59:3) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, verb and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form II perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is ʿayn dhāl bā (ع ذ ب). The attached object pronoun is third person masculine plural.
