Verse (59:14), Word 17 - Quranic Grammar

The seventeenth word of verse (59:14) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A circumstantial particle, noun and possessive pronoun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "while" and is used to indicate the circumstance of events. The noun is feminine plural and is in the nominative case (مرفوع). The noun's triliteral root is qāf lām bā (ق ل ب). The attached possessive pronoun is third person masculine plural.

Sahih International: They will not fight you all except within fortified cities or from behind walls. Their violence among themselves is severe. You think they are together, but their hearts are diverse. That is because they are a people who do not reason.
