Verse (58:10), Word 16 - Quranic Grammar

__

The sixteenth word of verse (58:10) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, imperative particle and verb. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "let" and is used to form an imperative construction. The form V imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the jussive mood (مجزوم). The verb's triliteral root is wāw kāf lām (و ك ل).
