Verse (4:99), Word 2 - Quranic Grammar

The second word of verse (4:99) is a perfect verb (فعل ماض). The verb is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is ʿayn sīn yā (ع س ي). The verb (عسى) belongs to a special group of words known as kāda and her sisters (كاد واخواتها).
