Verse (4:73), Word 9 - Quranic Grammar

The ninth word of verse (4:73) is an imperfect verb (فعل مضارع). The verb is third person feminine singular and is in the jussive mood (مجزوم). The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (تكنۢ) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).

Sahih International: But if bounty comes to you from Allah , he will surely say, as if there had never been between you and him any affection. "Oh, I wish I had been with them so I could have attained a great attainment."
