Verse (4:59), Word 15 - Quranic Grammar

The fifteenth word of verse (4:59) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A result particle, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The result particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate the result of a condition. The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is rā dāl dāl (ر د د). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is third person masculine singular.

Sahih International: O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
