Verse (4:4), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (4:4) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and conditional particle. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events.

Verse (4:4)

Sahih International: And give the women [upon marriage] their [bridal] gifts graciously. But if they give up willingly to you anything of it, then take it in satisfaction and ease.
