Verse (4:29), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (4:29) is an imperfect verb (فعل مضارع). The verb is third person feminine singular and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (تكون) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).

Sahih International: O you who have believed, do not consume one another's wealth unjustly but only [in lawful] business by mutual consent. And do not kill yourselves [or one another]. Indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful.
