Verse (45:15), Word 4 - Quranic Grammar

__

The fourth word of verse (45:15) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A resumption particle, preposition, noun and possessive pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for". The noun is feminine singular and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The noun's triliteral root is nūn fā sīn (ن ف س). The attached possessive pronoun is third person masculine singular. Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).
