Verse (42:7), Word 6 - Quranic Grammar

The sixth word of verse (42:7) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A particle of purpose and verb. The prefixed particle lām is used to indicate the purpose of an action and makes the following verb subjunctive. Sahih International: And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Qur'an that you may warn the Mother of Cities [Makkah] and those around it and warn of the Day of Assembly, about which there is no doubt. A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.
