Verse (42:48), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (42:48) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, accusative particle and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The accusative particle belongs to a special group of words known as inna and her sisters (ان واخواتها). The attached object pronoun is first person plural.

Verse (42:48)

The analysis above refers to the 48th verse of chapter 42 (sūrat l-shūrā):

Sahih International: But if they turn away - then We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], over them as a guardian; upon you is only [the duty of] notification. And indeed, when We let man taste mercy from us, he rejoices in it; but if evil afflicts him for what his hands have put forth, then indeed, man is ungrateful.
