Verse (39:49), Word 8 - Quranic Grammar

The eighth word of verse (39:49) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The form II perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is khā wāw lām (خ و ل). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is third person masculine singular.

Verse (39:49)

The analysis above refers to the 49th verse of chapter 39 (sūrat l-zumar):

Sahih International: And when adversity touches man, he calls upon Us; then when We bestow on him a favor from Us, he says, "I have only been given it because of [my] knowledge." Rather, it is a trial, but most of them do not know.
