Verse (39:10), Word 2 - Quranic Grammar

The second word of verse (39:10) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A vocative particle, noun and possessive pronoun. The noun is masculine plural and is in the accusative case (منصوب). The noun's triliteral root is ʿayn bā dāl (ع ب د). The of the first person singular possessive pronoun has been omitted due to elision (الياء محذوفة), and is indicated by the kasrah.
