Verse (34:19), Word 17 - Quranic Grammar

The seventeenth word of verse (34:19) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and noun. The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for". Sahih International: But [insolently] they said, "Our Lord, lengthen the distance between our journeys," and wronged themselves, so We made them narrations and dispersed them in total dispersion. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
