Verse (32:12), Word 12 - Quranic Grammar

The twelfth word of verse (32:12) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and object pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is rā jīm ʿayn (ر ج ع). The attached object pronoun is first person plural.

Sahih International: If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain."
