Verse (32:10), Word 6 - Quranic Grammar

The sixth word of verse (32:10) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An interrogative alif, accusative particle and object pronoun. The prefixed alif is an interrogative particle used to form a question and is usually translated as "is", "are", or "do". The accusative particle belongs to a special group of words known as inna and her sisters (ان واخواتها). The attached object pronoun is first person plural.

Verse (32:10)

The analysis above refers to the tenth verse of chapter 32 (sūrat l-sajdah):

Sahih International: And they say, "When we are lost within the earth, will we indeed be [recreated] in a new creation?" Rather, they are, in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord, disbelievers.
