Verse (30:46), Word 13 - Quranic Grammar

The thirteenth word of verse (30:46) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, particle of purpose, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed particle lām is used to indicate the purpose of an action and makes the following verb subjunctive. The form VIII imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is bā ghayn yā (ب غ ي). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: And of His signs is that He sends the winds as bringers of good tidings and to let you taste His mercy and so the ships may sail at His command and so you may seek of His bounty, and perhaps you will be grateful.
