Verse (2:54), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (2:54) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A particle of cause, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so". The particle is used to indicate cause and makes the following verb subjunctive. The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is tā wāw bā (ت و ب). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

The analysis above refers to the 54th verse of chapter 2 (sūrat l-baqarah):

Sahih International: And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf [for worship]. So repent to your Creator and kill yourselves. That is best for [all of] you in the sight of your Creator." Then He accepted your repentance; indeed, He is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.
