Verse (2:23), Word 13 - Quranic Grammar

The thirteenth word of verse (2:23) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is dāl ʿayn wāw (د ع و). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a Surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah , if you should be truthful.
