Verse (2:193), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (2:193) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A result particle and negative particle. The result particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate the result of a condition. The negative particle acts like the particle anna (أن). This particle belongs to a special group of words known as inna and her sisters (ان واخواتها).

Verse (2:193)

The analysis above refers to the 193rd verse of chapter 2 (sūrat l-baqarah):

Sahih International: Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah. But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors.
