Verse (2:137), Word 15 - Quranic Grammar

The fifteenth word of verse (2:137) is divided into 5 morphological segments. A result particle, future particle, verb and two object pronouns. The result particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate the result of a condition. The prefixed future particle sa is used in combination with the imperfect (present tense) verb to form the future tense. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is kāf fā yā (ك ف ي). The attached first object pronoun is second person masculine singular. The attached second object pronoun is third person masculine plural.

Verse (2:137)

The analysis above refers to the 137th verse of chapter 2 (sūrat l-baqarah):

Sahih International: So if they believe in the same as you believe in, then they have been [rightly] guided; but if they turn away, they are only in dissension, and Allah will be sufficient for you against them. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
