Verse (2:104), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (2:104) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is qāf wāw lām (ق و ل). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Verse (2:104)

The analysis above refers to the 104th verse of chapter 2 (sūrat l-baqarah):

Sahih International: O you who have believed, say not [to Allah 's Messenger], "Ra'ina" but say, "Unthurna" and listen. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.
