Verse (29:47), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (29:47) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, preposition and demonstrative pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed preposition ka is usually translated as "like" or "as". The demonstrative pronoun is masculine singular. Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).

Sahih International: And thus We have sent down to you the Qur'an. And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture believe in it. And among these [people of Makkah] are those who believe in it. And none reject Our verses except the disbelievers.
