Verse (27:15), Word 6 - Quranic Grammar

The sixth word of verse (27:15) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine dual. The verb's triliteral root is qāf wāw lām (ق و ل). The suffix (الألف) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise [is due] to Allah , who has favored us over many of His believing servants."
