Verse (26:102), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (26:102) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A particle of cause and verb. The prefixed particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so". The particle is used to indicate cause and makes the following verb subjunctive. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is first person plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (نكون) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).
