Verse (25:42), Word 2 - Quranic Grammar

The second word of verse (25:42) is a perfect verb (فعل ماض). The verb is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw dāl (ك و د). The verb (كاد) belongs to a special group of words known as kāda and her sisters (كاد واخواتها).
