The 22nd word of verse (24:40) is an imperfect verb (فعل مضارع). The verb is third person masculine singular and is in the jussive mood (مجزوم). The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw dāl (ك و د). The verb (يكد) belongs to a special group of words known as kāda and her sisters (كاد واخواتها).
