Verse (24:28), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (24:28) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the jussive mood (مجزوم). The verb's triliteral root is dāl khā lām (د خ ل). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is third person feminine singular.

Sahih International: And if you do not find anyone therein, do not enter them until permission has been given you. And if it is said to you, "Go back," then go back; it is purer for you. And Allah is Knowing of what you do.
