Verse (24:1), Word 3 - Quranic Grammar

The third word of verse (24:1) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is fā rā ḍād (ف ر ض). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is third person feminine singular.

and We (have) made it obligatory,
