Verse (24:19), Word 16 - Quranic Grammar

The sixteenth word of verse (24:19) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and proper noun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The proper noun is in the nominative case (مرفوع). Sahih International: Indeed, those who like that immorality should be spread [or publicized] among those who have believed will have a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter. And Allah knows and you do not know.
