Verse (23:41), Word 4 - Quranic Grammar

The fourth word of verse (23:41) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction fa is usually translated as "and". The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is jīm ʿayn lām (ج ع ل). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun. Sahih International: So the shriek seized them in truth, and We made them as [plant] stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people.
