Verse (22:25), Word 20 - Quranic Grammar

The twentieth word of verse (22:25) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and verbal noun. The prefixed preposition bi is usually translated as "with" or "by". The indefinite form IV verbal noun is masculine and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The verbal noun's triliteral root is lām ḥā dāl (ل ح د). Sahih International: Indeed, those who have disbelieved and avert [people] from the way of Allah and [from] al-Masjid al-haram, which We made for the people - equal are the resident therein and one from outside; and [also] whoever intends [a deed] therein of deviation [in religion] or wrongdoing - We will make him taste of a painful punishment.
