Verse (21:3), Word 3 - Quranic Grammar

The third word of verse (21:3) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is sīn rā rā (س ر ر). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?"
