Verse (21:37), Word 8 - Quranic Grammar

The eighth word of verse (21:37) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The form X imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the jussive mood (مجزوم). The verb's triliteral root is ʿayn jīm lām (ع ج ل). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The of the first person singular object pronoun has been omitted due to elision (الياء محذوفة), and is indicated by the kasrah.
