Verse (19:17), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (19:17) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is rā sīn lām (ر س ل). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel, and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man.
