Verse (17:44), Word 19 - Quranic Grammar

The nineteenth word of verse (17:44) is a perfect verb (فعل ماض). The verb is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (كان) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).

Sahih International: The seven heavens and the earth and whatever is in them exalt Him. And there is not a thing except that it exalts [Allah] by His praise, but you do not understand their [way of] exalting. Indeed, He is ever Forbearing and Forgiving.
