Verse (17:108), Word 8 - Quranic Grammar


The eighth word of verse (17:108) is divided into 2 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix and passive participle. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The indefinite passive participle is masculine and is in the accusative case (منصوب). The passive participle's triliteral root is fā ʿayn lām (ف ع ل).
